Pulsed Dye Laser

Treatment for: Rosacea, Spider Veins, Port Wine Stains, Birthmarks, Angiomas, Warts

The Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) uses a beam of light at a specific wavelength and is used for spider veins on the face, changes of rosacea, port wine stains, small cherry angiomas, and some scars. We also use the PDL for some warts.

The PDL is a safe and effective method of treatment performed by a board certified dermatologist. This laser can be used for all ages and skin types.

PDL is a quick treatment, usually requiring only a few minutes. When the laser is applied to the skin, patients feel some stinging similar to a small rubber band against the skin. Most patients tolerate PDL easily.

The number of treatments varies depending on the lesion or condition being treated. For example, a single spider vein on the face usually requires only one or two treatments, whereas a port wine stain involving the cheek, may require multiple treatments. The PDL causes some bruising the treated area which lasts from 7 – 14 days. Makeup may be used to cover.
